WA ST Elementary Chess Championship

Our Mission:
To both oversee and facilitate the continued success of the
Washington State Elementary Championships as a vehicle for:

Encouraging and motivating Washington scholastic players to strive to become stronger players Promoting the continued growth of scholastic chess in Washington State Promoting fairness and sportsmanship among our players and coaches Honoring our top players

Tournament:
The tournament will be a five round Swiss format. The time control will be Game/30 (maximum one hour for each game) or Game/25 with 5-second time delay. Standard USCF rules(latest
edition) will be enforced. The Washington State Elementary Chess Championship (WSECC)Policy Board will clarify rules that are specific to the state tournament.

Grade-level divisions will be used in accord with current WSECC rules. In order to increase thechances of single champions per grade level, WECC intends to establish Open and Reservesections by grade except Kindergarten.

Costs:
Registration fee is will be no more than $40 (discount for early registration by Mar 1), same as the 2011 proposal. I Love Chess 2 registration fee will be no more than $25. Team tables will be available at $50 each. These may be lowered if there is significant sponsorship.
