Red Cross - Real Heroes Breakfast

Ordinary people...Extraordinary courage...
We use this term often when discussing our
annual Real Heroes Breakfast in March….for it
truly epitomizes the people recognized that day.
The Real Heroes event celebrates the power of
humanitarian spirit in our community by honoring
local citizens for doing something remarkable to
help others.
“Hero” nominations are currently being sought for
the following categories: Firefighter, Law
Enforcement, Medical, 911 Dispatch, Workplace
Safety, Community Group, Animal Rescue, Adult
Good Samaritan, Youth Good Samaritan, and Spirit
of the Red Cross.
An independent panel of judges will then review all
nominations and select one per category to be
awarded at the March 2010 event. A video
vignette detailing their act of heroism is produced
by our partners at KNDU and recipients will be
presented with a personalized commemorative
medallion.
Event proceeds will be used to support local
services, such as assistance for fire victims,
emergency military communications, first aid and
CPR training and disaster preparedness
information for our community.
